(The resort conforms to the exacting standards of the Leading Hotels of the World). Each cottage is built from native blue bitch stone which is quarried on the island. There are terra cotta floors and peaked ceilings of Purpleheart hardwood. Everything blends beautifully with the island’s terrain. Each of the cottages features a wooden sundeck, a living room, a bedroom, and one or two bathrooms and dressing rooms. The bathrooms have a shower, lots of counter space, robes, fluffy towels and a medley of Molton Brown toiletries. The two daybeds in each living room can be made up to accommodate children. The cottages are sited to make the most of their immediate surroundings. Some are notched into the hills and bluffs to catch the breeze and savor the views, most are just steps from the beach.
